Preventing Supply Chain Disruptions with Track & Trace Technologies and Smart Packaging

ORBIS Europe has teamed up with experienced partners and previewed how it will transform its containers into “smartbins”, making them traceable in real time, capable of measuring temperature and alerting manipulation or impact. This enables the user to take immediate action in order to prevent disruptions in the supply chain or product damage. The technology is based on GSM and WiFi and can work with any IT system. Data is uploading automatically once connected to WIFI effectively eliminating handhelds or any manual operation. The compact dimensions make it ideal for installation in all ORBIS Bulk Bins.

The First European Foldable Large Container (FLC) for Electric Motors

Considering the recent shift towards automation in the automotive industry, ORBIS has recently developed the first European folding large container solution designed to store and move electric motors. This FLC was designed to interface with the next generation of the automotive supply chain being fully operated by robotics. The integration in existing and automated supply chains is easy as robots can be programmed to open, load and close the bin without human interference. The fully enclosed protective bin provides a durable and sustainable packaging solution with customizable inner packaging to protect fully-assembled electric motors. It is designed to interface with existing automotive supply chains while offering an improved ergonomic layout for both manual and automatic use.

IonPak 2.0

Transport Damaged Lithium Ion Batteries with the ORBIS IonPak

The newest reusable packaging solution is specifically designed for the safe return of obsolete or damaged lithium ion batteries. It is the perfect addition to the ORBIS product portfolio that includes the IonPak for the safe, damage-free and cost-efficient transportation or storage of modular lithium-ion batteries as well as other dangerous goods. The IonPak 2.0 contains fire-retardant filling materials and is UN certified. ORBIS understands the challenges that come with the transport of lithium-ion batteries along the whole supply chain such as strict regulations and safety hazards. That is why ORBIS has developed collapsible heavy-duty bins, that can be used for the logistics of those goods, including the return shipment.
